Usually on Labor Day I work.
I work in a 24/7/365 medical call center and it’s a holiday that doesn’t have a lot of attachments for me.
Right now I am on FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act) to be with my family with my dad’s new brain tumor.
Looks like surgery will be a week from today, but that’s subject to change.
He is moving to Philadelphia tomorrow, where there is an excellent brain surgeon at Pennsylvania Hospital.
Looks like we will be commuting from Allentown, PA.
Right now, I am happy to be with my family but feeling quite displaced without the job, the fabulous Lanna Lee Maheux and the adorable Lenny and Squiggy.
It’s funny how much your nest matters.
Right now it’s just taking it as it comes. My dad seems to be doing okay, but I am worried about the surgery and how he might change after. I am also worried about the rehabilitation. So far, I am less worried about the surgery itself, but that is subject to change.
But, definitely missing Maine and missing my comfort zones.
So it goes.
