2012: A Year of Spirit

I tend to set a big goal to work on for a year or several years.

Last year my metagoal was creativity, and I think I did well with it .. attending a lot of readings with Port Veritas. Taking some improv classes with @rachyrach1 and continuing to write, blog and make poetry.

I feel like I had a great creative year and a great reading year with Minerva, the Walker Library and my Kindle 3/Keyboard I got as a birthday present in June.

So I wanted to have a major thing to focus on in 2012.

And I thought of Spirit.

I am a theist, if not necessarily Christian. I have felt connected at pagan gatherings and at First Parish UU. It’s a wonderful feeling.

I am also doing better working with silence and recognizing the spirit in absence.

I have also become more prayerful.

All I hope to continue and to work on in 2012.

I am also considering joining the choir at First Parish and planning to change churches over the winter.

And hoping to have a more internal year in a way with my spirit, but also connect more with people.

I am looking forward to 2012 .. and the Mayan calendar just ran out of room.

Happy New Year!
