Me and Lanna made a great decision tonight to attend the Yale Harvard Glee Club concert which has been a tradition before the Big Game for decades. And I think I enjoyed this more than I would the football The Harvard Glee Club was good and they’ve been around since 1958. But, they have one glaring flaw. Even in 2017, it’s still a male only choir. Which I think is ridiculous and vastly decreases their range and repertoire.
And then there was an intermission and the Yale Glee Club ran onto the stage literally. I was a little worried about tripping them. I actually said wow after their first few songs. So much richness and complexity. And they actually commission songs to play. Two of which debuted tonight. And the time listening to them flew by. I will definitely be watching the Yale Glee Club again.
And in the future I will have to see some of the 17 acapella troupes at Yale. It’s only 25 minutes away. I was worried about parking with all the 50,000 people expected for the football game tomorrow but I found a space a block away I could even fit the minivan in.
Absolutely great night and I appreciate the fact it was free. Even got a chance to give $20 to relief efforts for the Mexico City earthquake.
I need to go to many more events at Yale.
