Esther Earl was a young woman who loved her family, Harry Potter, geekery, nerdfighteria and John Green. Unfortunately, she died at only 16 from cancer.
But, she did inspire John Green on her birthday every year to have Esther Day when we tell family and friends that we love them. It’s on the other side of the calendar in early May but it’s a great idea. It’s also something we rarely do as a society.
I just finished Esther Earl’s book “This Star Won’t Go Out” today. And I needed tissues handy. And although it might be awkward tell those you love that you love them especially friends and family. It’s a beautiful thing to do.
