Cars are very useful things. Extremely expensive too. Maintenance, gas, depreciation, the cost of roads and parking, the amount of land used.
And growing up in the suburbs, they are a necessity. It’s very hard to go to the supermarket without one for instance.
Tomorrow we are going to the U.S. Open and I am worried about parking. I was planning just to park at Shea but the Mets are in town. I kind of think the Mets should be on the road for the US Open fortnight. The Mets make a ton on parking and it’s just easier for everyone.
But, they aren’t so it goes.
And I like just not worrying about the car much. Like when we go into the city or park it in Boston.
But when it’s only 90 minutes to drive and 3 hours for mass transit, I’m going to try the car. I’m hoping it will end up being pretty easy and it was much ado about not that much.
