Walter Maheux, my beloved father in law died one year ago today. It was a fast passing. Found out he was sick on President’s Day weekend and a few weeks later he passed.
Found out he was coughing blood for several years, but didn’t go to the hospital until almost crashed the car.
It was a time of seeing relatives from all over the state and a few who came from across the country. To wish a universally beloved man goodbye. It was very quick.
He was home for a few weeks in hospice. My mother in law, Dottie Maheux was a wonderful caretaker. But gone too soon, gone much too soon.
Seems like we were just getting over it a few months later in late August when my dad had a new brain tumor. He wasn’t doing well and really hasn’t been up much since the surgery in September. Looks like he has a stroke during the surgery and a second stroke in early winter. He is going soon too.
Dad’s brain is going faster but his body is still pretty strong. His is a slower passing. Didn’t expect him to see the Spring, but he is still here.
I miss my father in law greatly. I felt embraced immediately by my wife’s family since I first met them on Eastern, 2003 around ten years ago. I worry about my dad all the time, but this is a day of remembrance for a wonderful man.
We miss you Walter.
