I was happy to have a bit of down time between calls at work today which was a happy surprise.
I read a bit of Coleman Barks translation of Rumi’s poetry which I really want to like more and almost finally done. ***
And I read most of Jack McCarthy’s absolutely amazing “Drunks and Other Poems of Recovery” for the 4th or fifth time. ***** Just an incredible and honest book, that I think actually has helped people.
Sometimes, I can not be in deep enough at work with poetry, but maybe having the Kindle helps too with these books. It’s easy to open and close at work and your “page” is shorter.
I definitely read a lot more fiction at work though. It’s easy to keep the narrative thread. Non fiction is generally much harder.
