So, I’ve had the guitar for a year and a half or so, since February, 2015.
I’ve taken a few lessons but have used Rocksmith, the New York Guitar School Guide for Absolute Beginners and Ultimate Guitar Tabs more.
When I had my first lesson back in February or March of 2015, I was given 12 bar blues in A to work with and told to use the backing track, which I have to say I really didn’t do.
Yesterday, I had a lesson with Blues in G with a backing track.
And this time I did practice in both G and A for an hour plus on YouTube. It does make a difference to have the beat. Basic lessons can get tiring.
I did A at slow and medium:
And some slow blues in G.
I just need to keep working at it, getting better and picking up more.
I know the basic chords now but I need to learn some progressions. And I really, really like the blues.
It was also fun to play some “Creep” by Radiohead, “Rocky Mountain High” by John Denver and “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Elvis Presley.
Spent at least 90 minutes practicing which is a lot for me, especially recently. And especially considered I was exhausted all day. I do like the guitar and need to keep at it. Wooo!
