Bull Moose

After comparing iTunes and Amazon MP3/CD yesterday in my post. I decided I should talk about a local music chain today, Bull Moose.

My wife bought me a $25 Bull Moose gift card, and a Bull Moose t-shirt among many other things for Christmas. So last night after writing my post I decided I want 4 albums that were all $5.97. Bob Dylan-Bob Dylan; Bob Dylan – Times They Are a Changin’; and Micheal Jackson’s “Off the Wall” and “Thriller” (both special editions). For some reason I remembered this morning as “Bringing It Back Home” which I already have. So back to Bull Moose again.

Also got 3 CD grab bags which included some James Brown and some Buddy Rich and Merle Haggard. At 97 cents for 10 grab bags CDs it’s one of the best deals in town.

They even have books at Bull Moose now including some marked up titles or overstock for only 50 cents.

It’s a great local store chain with around 8-10 locations.

Although it’s still not my favorite record store which will always be the great Princeton Record Exchange on Tulare Street in Princeton, NJ. Oddly the store was even better when Sam Goody was on Nassau Street because Sam Goody had the pop albums and DVDs and Princeton Record Exchange had just whatever it wanted. Growing up in junior high school and high school in the late 80s and early 90s this included an unbelievable number of records for 99 cents in as is condition (which was still usually solid).

I love record stores, and I love the Canadian public radio show “The Vinyl Cafe”, we aren’t big, we’re small. And it’s also nice to Buy Local.
