Was listening to the great “Snap Judgment” podcast tonight and I heard a story which touched my heart and saddened me.
Was from a Washington State Prison Chaplain talking about his work. Originally he saw the joy that hugs could bring and the love of God and religion. Then prison policy changed and touch was no longer allowed. This piece shows how important touch is.
And if it doesn’t touch you and make you cry, I don’t think much will.
Never forget the importance of touch and the dangers of isolation. And how important spirit can be to those trying to improve themselves and mend troubled hearts.
