I love libraries.
So much information, so many books, so little time.
You borrow them, they are due back. Because if this you have a deadline. It’s okay for a book to be unfinished, many are.
And it forces you to choose, do I run through this book, or return it now, or let it be overdue. I always feel guilty about the overdue book.
Today “Bradbury Speaks” by Ray Bradbury was due. It’s a wonderful collection of essays that with a deadline I finished this morning, not sure when I would if I owned it.
Libraries also as any bibliophile knows, save a large fortune. I love my Kindle, I do, but many books are expensive on it. And poetry and most especially graphic novels are better in book form. Poems mainly for formatting, and even with a tablet graphic novels are simply better on page.
So if you like to read don’t forget about your local library, the books are waiting for you.
