Finally played my first game of disc golf this year at the challenging Bennett’s course on 114 in Gorham.
If you haven’t played before this is how it works. You use a disc (a frisbee with a metal ring inside for more stability and distance) at a raised target that is usually 200-400 feet away (up to 800 feet on long holes).
At Bennett’s it’s just $5 and you play a challenging course that goes up and down hills and through the woods. It’s wonderful.
It’s a great chance to be outside.
And like regular golf to me, to suck with occasional great shots. But to be fair, I am definitely better at disc golf then regular golf and have played many more time. It’s also wicked cheaper.
If you haven’t try it give it a try, it’s awesome.
Also remember to wear good running/walking shoes and shorts on a hot day. I wasn’t planning to play today and had on LL Bean clogs and jeans which is not ideal on a 80 degree sunny day.
