One of the most important challenges in the world is ending open defecation and having toilets and food sanitation.
Human waste aka shit can be extremely dangerous to health.
I was reminded of this again with a panel thst had 6 major religious leaders and unfortunately only 45 minutes today at the Parliament of World Religions in Toronto.
I’ve also been reminded by the very good and important book “The Big Necessity” by Rose George.
Good sanitation can mean years of better life expectancy. It can mean less disease, better education and much cleaner water.
As one of the leaders said, toilets are more important than temples. You can pray anywhere, but people need a safe place to deal with their shit. It can make all the difference.
