I went to the Rebellious Lawyering Conference today at Yale Law School. It was mostly law students from the northeast an amazing 1200 registrants.
It’s great to see so many young lawyers interested in social activism.
My favorite sessions of a very full day were the excellent closing keynote address from Purvi Shah. And the absolutely superb panel Laboring for Liberation: Disability Justice, Intersectionality and Accountable Activism.
Ableism, neurodivergence, sanism, a new word meaning people assume sanity are things. And people that are high functioning can require help too and those that are low functioning can be very useful people in society. Excellent panel with Talila Lewis, Victoria Rodriguez-Roldan, Shain M. Neumeier and Lydiq X.Z.Brown.
I am very happy I heard about it and will definitely try to attend next year’s conference as well.
