This will be a little different for my #FridayReads piece.
Often I talk about my books of the week.
And that would probably be the very fun read by Hugh Howey called “The Hurricane” ***1/2. I am thinking of talking more about those books in a piece later about Independent Authors and the Kindle. The Kindle is amazing for that.
But, I was recommended a short film by my friend Rev. Ellen Cooper called “The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore”. She said there is also an awesome iPad app with it. The movie blew me away.
Just a stunning 15 minute short film with magical realism about the power of reading and books. Made me extremely happy and want to share it.
Gorgeous imagery, wonderful heart, and even made me cry a little.
Just superb. Any book fan needs to see it.
Here is the video:
Also finished a book of poetry: “The City Lights Pocket Poets Anthology” *** … Some excellent poems, many I browsed through.
I also returned the good, but not amazing “I Was a Potato Oligarch” by John Mole *** .. Read about 2/3rds, captures the absurdity of post-soviet Russia well.
I love reading, and I adored this short film.
