I was watching the incredibly slow end of the Green Bay-Detroit game today and saw a commercial. That Gotham was available anytime on Fox on Demand.
We gave up the DISH network a few years ago for Amazon Prime and then added Netflix. So we gave up the DVR and mostly watched what was streaming with subscriptions. We have paid for a few shows like “Agents of Shield”, “Doctor Who” and “Parts Unknown” but mostly the free stuff.
When we moved to Connecticut last year it was $50/month the first year for very high speed internet, I work from home with a medical call center and it included a little cable, broadcast TV and HBO (although oddly not HBOGo, silly Comcast). Basically, I only got cable because it came with the internet. We didn’t even have it hooked up in the living room for months.
The question is, how much will I watch on demand with this knowledge. Probably not all that much. I’m too cheap and kind of annoyed that at HD cable box is $10/month extra. That is as much as Netflix or Amazon Prime. For that price on Amazon Prime you get free shipping for the year.
Even annoying that the Daily Show I was watching stopped after being paused for like ten minutes to write this post. And I kind of want to play some bass guitar anyway. Because actually learning something is really much better than simply watching. Spanish is the big thing on my agenda for 2016.
That’s two days blogging in a row, going to try to continue. Woo!
