Really impressive 16 hour 8 part documentary about the diverse history of country music.
Lots on so many stars some like Jimmie Rogers, Hank Williams and Pasty Cline gone too soon. Some with incredibly long careers like Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson.
I personally really like Americana which includes bluegrass and a lot of country music.
I didn’t think how much the radio consolidation of the Clinton Era Telecommunications Act has hurt both country and pop radio.
And fair warning keep your tissues happy for the last episode, it’s a tear jerker.
So happy I found out about this series while it’s all available at PBS on Demand I highly recommend it.
