I wish this old saying was true if you go to the movies. But, it’s not close to true.
The last movie I saw the very disappointing “Ready Player One”, had an absolutely terrible audience.
I was in the 2nd row which is usually a quieter and mellower place. I like seeing movies closer to the front of the theater.
But, this night there was a family of 7 or 8 in front of us. The kids ran around the whole movie. Honestly, that didn’t bother me all that much. I even helped them find a shoe (or asked for help) while the credits were rolling.
What did bother me is phones. Someone actually took a phone call a few seats right of me during the show for a few minutes until I eventually stared him down. There was someone else who kept checking the phone until I told him to turn it off. And just right of me someone was looking at Instagram.
If you would rather be on the phone or check your phone then watch the movie, please wait until video.
I guess I’m a curmudgeon.
And I think I prefer a mellower theater a few days or weeks after the movie has come out.
Lanna and her friends are going to see The Avengers: Infinity War tonight. I know there will be a lot of characters and lots of stuff happening. I’m not sure this is a good thing. It’s the kind of movie that can have the “disease of more”, just more stuff, more things, and less of an interesting movie with a coherent plot.
My guess is like Captain America: Civil War, The Avengers and The Avengers: Age of Ultron, it will be good but dissapointing. I’m expecting a solid *** movie but nothing great. Marvel has done a good enough job with most of the Marvel Cinematic Universe it will probably be good.
But, I’m kind of glad I’m not going to a full movie tonight. With people checking their cell phones and everything. Although, I hope with tonight’s crowd of MCU fans that no one actually decides to answer his cell phone and take a call during the movie. That would make for some upset nerds, geeks and I guess everyone now considering this movie will probably make a over a billion dollars worldwide like the other Avengers movies.
And besides, they are seeing a 9:40pm show then doesn’t get out probably until midnight. Coming home at 12:30am when I have to get up for work at 5:30am is a really bad idea.
