I keep thinking of getting more involved in politics.
I went to a fundraiser for Dan Drew for Governor tonight in Woodbridge, CT. Odd that you need to raise $250,000 to get on the ballot in CT but you can’t raise more than $100 per donor.
It was good to talk to some people, but I am much more comfortable with 2-4 people than a big crowd.
I think we definitely need to do better for everyone. And yes that means increasing revenue so we aren’t drowning in debt. In his case tolling, the Mass Pike automatic tolls are a good model. Marijuana legalization and taxation, a slam dunk. And raising taxes on the rich, which has been the opposite of what we have been doing for years.
I liked him but wasn’t nearly as inspired as the last political fundraiser home visit we had for Maine US Senate democratic candidate, Shenna Bellows, she is pure awesome. But still lost to Susan Collins.
I think I should do more. Especially in Trumpland, we need good candidates in every election from school boards to Congress. The little offices matter too.
