I have been mostly watching NASCAR since I got out of work including watching a lot of the nearly two hour rain delay.
I will say that NBC did a good job during the delay. Including Rutledge Wood who is far, far better as a sideline reporter for NASCAR than he was on the Top Gear USA failure.
Although Fox is better overall I think. Darrell Watrip and Jeff Gordon along with the other Fox reporter are better than the NBC reporters. They also seem more excited. I also think the Fox directors and cameramen do a better job replaying accidents and incidents.
And it seems like the low downforce package for Indianapolis isn’t working with all of these accidents. Including the two best cars Martin Truex Jr. and Kyle Busch wrecking with around 50 laps to go.
It was a destruction derby late but Kasey Kahne won in a second overtime. I kind of think NASCAR waited until Kahne went past the overtime line to call the caution because they wanted the race over. Sunset was approaching and every restart seem to bring a new crash.
Still fun to watch though, including NBC stretching time with the rain delay.
