I grew up near Princeton, New Jersey and I could get 660 WFAN on my radio dial. I did listen to it occasionally, usually late night with the schmoozer, Steve Sommers I think. Which was a much quieter show then Mike and the Mad Dog yelling at each other.
Good 30 for 30 tonight ***, it crazy how many sports talk shows there are with two guys yelling at each other on both radio and tv. Also how many all sports radio stations.
I have to admit my favorite is Pardon the Interruption (PTI) on ESPN which I do have set on the DVR. Tony Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon are great together.
But, man is there a lot of annoying offspring of Mike and the Mad Dog, which I frankly thought was kind of annoying.
And my wife Lanna is right. Most of these shows are sausage fests. Seeing some female correspondents on shows like Around the Horn is the exception not the rule.
