March Haiku Challenge

My friend Tina “T Love” Smith laid a haiku a day challenge for March.

It’s this kind of thing that gets me writing haikus.

Have written probably a dozen so far.

Here are some of them.

March a tricky season
Teases of spring and sun,
then comes the cold.

Texting for news
Too early for phone calls
Tough days being away.

Midnight in Portland
Gas at Irving’s
Feeling like calling Joe.

Darkness falls
The wind howls
Death knocks the door

Poets read poetry
Read it. Absorb it. Love it
Write more poetry

I have written some more but that’s all I can find on my Facebook page right now. It’s faster to write haikus than find them sometimes.

Kitties are giving
Always leaving presents
Around the house.

The long winter white
The quick buds of Spring green
The tiny summer.

The long winter white
The quick buds of Spring green
Summer is so short.

Writing haiku
Some syllables, not many
Only three lines.
